1978 – 1985
Tony Caliento started ATC
in a small basement shop and garage doing repair work, experimenting with
audio equipment as a result of his musical background as a musician (sax
and guitar).
1986
– 1991
Formerly started ATC Audio from a storefront located on White
Street in Springfield, Ma. (400 sq. ft). The company started selling
used audio gear, rebuilding speakers, customer building speakers, renting
sound systems and selling new/used equipment.
ATC’s first
large installation job was a multi floor conference and audio/video sound
system for the State of Connecticut in the mid 80’s. We also started doing
live sound reinforcement for larger venues and semi national acts. ATC’s
steady retail growth increased the need for offering more products and as
a result the need for more space.
1992
- 1995
After continuous growth of customers, staff and services offered,
ATC moved to it’s second store location in West Springfield, MA (1,200
sq. ft).
ATC established
itself as a well recognized regional seller of major professional audio brands
like JBL, Crown, Soundcraft, Shure, BSS, DBX and others in the Western Massachusetts
and Northern Connecticut area.
1996
- 2003
Further growth lead us to our third location in 1996 (2,500
sq. ft). This was a significant growth period as ATC experienced more
demands for DJ and lighting equipment and the customers need for quality
gear.
2004
- Today
ATC finally purchased its own facility in Feb. 2004 and is located
at 89 Myron St., West Springfield, MA (6,000 sq. ft). We
have a 2,000 sq ft retail area and facilities for electronic repairs, speaker
rebuilding, audio/visual rentals and studio processing.
Our focus continues
to be on providing the customer with the best possible products, services
and solutions possible. Our growth could not happen without loyal and satisfied
customers and we thank you.
